Aujourd’hui, nous avons passé notre journée dans la Canton Central School, réunissant les classes primaires, secondaires et lycéennes. En effet, nous avons découvert un système scolaire bien différent du nôtre et devinez quoi : les américains font leur propre emploie du temps ! Nous avons commencé notre journée par un cours de français et avons poursuivi par des cours de physique, cuisine, histoire américaine, maths, anglais et sport. Les cours durent d’ailleurs 45 minutes chacun. Lors de la pause, nous avons découvert le self du lycée qui est bien plus petit que le nôtre. Nous sommes rentrés chez nous pendant 2 heures après quelques cours, avant de repartir, les bras chargés de nourriture, pour le Potluck organisé au lycée. Là-bas, nous nous sommes tous réunis entre élèves et familles afin de partager un moment convivial. Enfin, nous avons terminé la journée sur un match de basketball masculin opposant Canton à Ogdensburg. Un match qui se soldera malheureusement par une défaite. Ce fut une journée fort instructive et très intéressante, nous rappelant ce qu’était la vie à l’école.
February 11th
Today we spent our day in Canton Central School, where we can find : elementary, primary and highschool students. Indeed, we discovered a school system very different from ours and guess what : Americans make their own timetable ! We started our day with a French class and continued with physics, cooking, American history, math, English and sports. The lessons are 45 minutes each. During the break we discovered the high school self which is much smaller than ours. We returned to home for 2 hours after some class, before leaving with our arms laden with food for the Potluck organized at the school. There we share a friendly moment with all the families and students. Finally, we ended the day with a men’s basketball game between Canton and Ogdensburg. A match which will unfortunately result in a defeat. It was a very instructive and very interesting day who remember us the life in school.
