We spent the day in London ! We left at 7.40 am from MRC and listened to the presentations about London and its history as well as the numerous architects that have changed it. It was really interesting and we learnt a lot about the city. So we arrived there at 10.30 and the driver kindly drove us in front of Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, the various high-rises of London, the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. Then we arrived at The Globe, a replica of Shakespeare’s theatre where a guide told us about the history of the theatre, Shakespeare’s life and the Elizabethan theatre. We saw the stage and it was really impressive because we sat on the highest seats just under the roof. Later we walked to the nearby Tate Modern and had our packed lunches there and went upstairs to see the exhibitions. We learnt a lot about the different movements in paintings and discovered some modern work of art by Roy Fox Lichtenstein, Giacometti… for example. When the visit was over, we went to the museum shop where some students had fun with games and made constructions. Next we walked over the Millenium Bridge, past St Paul’s cathedral to Covent Garden under the rain. We had some free time to buy souvenirs and got on the bus again. It drove us to London Eye, Buckingham Palace before heading to Midhurst. We finally came back to Midhurst Rother College at 7 pm to meet our partners and drive home with them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nous avons pass\u00e9 la journ\u00e9e \u00e0 Londres ! Nous sommes partis \u00e0 7h40, avons \u00e9cout\u00e9 les expos\u00e9s de nos camarades sur Londres, son histoire ainsi que les nombreux architectes qui ont modifi\u00e9 la ville. C’\u00e9tait tr\u00e8s int\u00e9ressant et nous avons beaucoup appris sur cette ville. Nous sommes arriv\u00e9s \u00e0 Londres \u00e0 10h30 et le chauffeur a fait un crochet pour passer devant Big Ben, le Parlement, les grands buildings de Londres, la Tour de Londres et Tower Bridge. Ensuite, nous sommes all\u00e9s au Globe, une r\u00e9plique du th\u00e9\u00e2tre de Shakespeare o\u00f9 un guide nous a racont\u00e9 l’histoire du th\u00e9\u00e2tre \u00e9lisab\u00e9thain et la vie de Shakespeare, nous avons vu la sc\u00e8ne des gradins les plus \u00e9lev\u00e9s et c’\u00e9tait tr\u00e8s impressionnant. Apr\u00e8s nous sommes all\u00e9s \u00e0 la Tate Moderne o\u00f9 nous avons pris nos pique-nique avant d’aller voir les expositions permanents. Nous en savons plus d\u00e9sormais sur les diff\u00e9rents styles de peinture et nous avons d\u00e9couvert des oeuvres modernes produites par Roy Fox Lichtenstein, Giacometti… par exemple. A la fin de la visite, nous sommes all\u00e9s dans la boutique du mus\u00e9e et certains \u00e9l\u00e8ves se sont amus\u00e9s \u00e0 faire des jeux et des constructions. Ensuite, nous avons travers\u00e9 la Tamise sur le Millenium Bridge, sommes pass\u00e9s devant la cath\u00e9drale St Paul et march\u00e9 jusqu’\u00e0 Covent Garden sous la pluie. Les professeurs nous ont laiss\u00e9 un temps libre pour acheter des souvenirs, puis nous avons repris le bus et pass\u00e9 devant London Eye et le Palais de Buckingham avant de reprendre le chemin de Midhurst. Nous \u00e9tions finalement de retour \u00e0 7h \u00e0 Midhurst Rother College, o\u00f9 nos correspondants nous attendaient. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
