We took the coach at 7.30 am and arrived at 10.30 at London to visit a replica of Shakespeare’s Theatre called The Globe. This incredible theatre is used for some historical plays, tragedies and comedies. It was destroyed by the Great Fire of London in 1666. In the theatre, there are three levels of seats made of wood, but the audience can also stand in front of the stage. It looks like an Asian temple and we can observe zodiacs symbols on the ceiling above the stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The guide was very friendly and gave us much information about the theatre and performances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then we went to the Tate Modern museum, specialised in modern and contemporary art. We had our packed lunch at the entrance and we tasted some marmite, a kind of English sauce with a very salty taste and a vinegar smell. We didn’t like it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then we went to the top floor, where we had a great view so we took pictures of the Thames, the Millennium Bridge and Tower Bridge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After we looked at the exhibition of modern and contemporary artworks. We had a quiz and looked for the pieces of art into the museum to find the answers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At 2 pm we set off to the beautiful Saint Paul Cathedral. Then we walked along the streets of London between taxis and traditional London buses to Covent Garden, decorated with a nice Christmas setting. We did some shopping there and finally left for Guildford at 6.15 pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nous sommes partis \u00e0 7h30 pour Londres et sommes arriv\u00e9s \u00e0 10h30 pour visiter la r\u00e9plique du th\u00e9\u00e2tre de Shakespeare qui se nomme The Globe. Ce magnifique et majestueux th\u00e9\u00e2tre pr\u00e9sente des com\u00e9dies, des trag\u00e9dies et des pi\u00e8ces historiques. L’original a br\u00fbl\u00e9 lors du Grand Incendie de Londres en 1666. A l’int\u00e9rieur du b\u00e2timent, il y a 3 niveaux de gradins, mais beaucoup de spectateurs peuvent se tenir debout devant la sc\u00e8ne. Sur le plafond au dessus de la sc\u00e8ne, les signes du zodiaque sont repr\u00e9sent\u00e9s et les notables prenaient place sur les balcons situ\u00e9s \u00e0 droite et \u00e0 gauche de la sc\u00e8ne pour \u00eatre vus de tous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ensuite nous avons visit\u00e9 la Tate Modern, un mus\u00e9e d’art moderne et contemporain, o\u00f9 nous avons pique-niqu\u00e9 et go\u00fbt\u00e9 de la marmite, une esp\u00e8ce de sauce anglaise au go\u00fbt tr\u00e8s sal\u00e9 et \u00e0 l’odeur de vinaigre. Nous sommes mont\u00e9s au dernier \u00e9tage du mus\u00e9e o\u00f9 nous avons pu admirer une superbe vue sur la Tamise, le Millennium Bridge et Tower Bridge. Puis nous avons contempl\u00e9 l’exposition sur les \u0153uvres contemporaines et modernes et r\u00e9pondu au questionnaire fourni par nos enseignants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A 14 heures, nous sommes partis pour la Cath\u00e9drale Saint Paul, puis nous avons march\u00e9 dans les rues de Londres en croisant les taxis et les c\u00e9l\u00e8bres bus londoniens pour rejoindre Covent Garden, d\u00e9j\u00e0 d\u00e9cor\u00e9 pour No\u00ebl. Nous y avons fait quelques emplettes. Puis nous sommes repartis pour Guildford vers 18h15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
